OUR CAREERS CURRICULUM

Here at Wessex, our aim is to deliver the highest quality of education, care and preparation for life for all students at Wessex Lodge School. We pride ourselves on our exemplary teaching staff, who each bring their own individual qualities to the friendly and dynamic staff team at Wessex Lodge School.

Choosing which direction to take after leaving school is a big decision. We’re here to support our students and make sure they know about all the options open to them. Our curriculum focusses on careers, and we provide our students with meaningful career-related opportunities and activities throughout their time with us.

Our Careers Co-ordinator is Laura Gregg. If you have any questions about careers, higher education, work experience, or if you would like more information about our careers programme, please contact: laurag@enhancedlearningservices.co.uk

At Wessex Lodge School our aim is to provide an individualised education to improve life outcomes. We recognise that helping students to find the correct pathway is a large part of this. Our careers programme is designed to give our young people the skills, knowledge and confidence they require to find and access a career they will enjoy.

Using the Gatsby Benchmarks as a guide, and Careerpilot as a source of advice and guidance, we have created a careers programme for students from Year 7 to Year 13 that can be individualised to suit each student’s needs.

Alongside dedicated careers lessons, students will receive advice from an independent, fully-trained advisor at Careers South-West. CSW also help source work experience placements for students in Years 10, 11, 12, and 13.
