Our curriculum is underpinned by Thrive and our Trauma Informed approach. We offer a broad, bespoke curriculum to our students.
Our curriculum is divided into Pathway 1 – preparing to learn, Pathway two- ready to learn, Pathway three – interdependence (accredited courses). Our offer includes Functional Skills and GCSE for core subjects, D of E accreditations and Science accreditations (Pre GCSE Levels). We also offer PE, Outdoor Education and Forest School, Animal Care, Home Cooking Skills, Thrive individualised specific timetabled sessions, and an excellent PSHE/RSE provision. In addition to a very broad curriculum offer we deliver Computing, Art & design, Food technology, Humanities, Design technology, Music Therapy and AQA Unit Awards.
Our school day begins at 8:30 for staff briefing with students arriving on site at 9:30 a.m. and finishing the school day at 3:00 p.m. Our day is divided into 6 sessions, including a tutorial and end of day catch up.
Lunch time is between 1245 till 1310. We run core subjects in the morning across all 3 sites and then our hook subjects in the afternoon. With three vastly different sites we are able to deliver a broad curriculum based on Student pathways and student subject interests.
Students have access to safe spaces and safe adults on all sites, and PSHE intervention, including I and E (Inclusion and engagement) intervention can occur in real time or reparative time. De-brief for staff occurs after all students have left site, for staff to discuss and handover for the day.
